CONTROLLING FEATHER SHUTTLE SPEED |
||||||||
|
|
Q. What do you do if your shuttle is the
wrong speed and you're too cheap to take another one?
A. Simple - tip him.
The shuttle can be tipped in such a
way that it makes it faster or slower. This should only ever
be done with the agreement of all players involved and the
officials.
Bend the tip of the feathers inwards
to increase speed and outwards to decrease the speed.
Initially tip 1 in 4 feathers and test again. If this doesn't
produce satisfactory results try tipping 1 in 2 feathers.
Bend the feathers roughly 5mm from
the tip until the shaft 'snaps' but does not break - try to get all
tipped feathers as consistent as possible.
